North Warwickshire Phlebotomy Service
2020 brought about many changes what felt like overnight including the removal by the Trust of the main Phlebotomy area at the GEH site. The CWPS Nuneaton phlebotomy team did not let this phase us.

We still wanted to provide the community with the blood service that is required to enable everyone to continue to receive the treatment they deserve and need. So we doned PPE and moved everything 2 metres apart. We opened our doors even further by creating space and expanding clincs putting in place saftey measures to protect both patients and staff. Our community clincs have never stopped simply expanded! In some instances we have created new clinics. Some have doubled in capacity and others we have implented more appointments throughtout the week. We have moved locations and utilised the space we have. With the support of community venues this has enabled us to set up clinics across the county.
Atherstone Memorial Hall
Atherstone is a well-liked community accessible clinic. It prevents the patients from having to travel to the hospital to have a blood test. With the scheduling of appointments the patients have minimalwaiting times. There is a large Waiting room with a clinic where 2 phlebotomists work from.
One day a week we also run a shielded phlebotomy clinic for those patients that are vulnerable and are shielding. We ensure that patients do not cross paths and are not kept waiting. This means that they too can continue to receive valuable blood tests so that they continue treatment during the Covid Pandemic

Polesworth Memorial Hall
We have very recently moved into our new location which is situated in Polesworth Memorial Hall. This has enabled us to increase our appointments and still keep patients safe. We receive regular feedback from patients stating they are grateful and are pleased with ease of attending for a blood test. This clinic covers a wide area of Dordon and polesworth.
